Calvin & TV
Calvin & Hobbes

In today's society TV is a normal part of every home's inventory, and Calvin's home is no exception.

He has a variety of channels to choose from (not as many as he wants though...), and if he was allowed he could sit and watch TV 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As the modern American kid he is, a lot of time is spent in front of the screen, which, against his parents will, often becomes his "babysitter". Calvin believes that he would learn a lot more from sitting home all day watching TV, than going to school.

The programs he likes the most, is those which contains material he is not allowed to watch, by his parents. He constantly tries to fool his parents into renting movies with an age limit far above his own age. (Like many kids)
He has also tried to sneak himself into a 18 year age limit movie at the cinema.

HERE'S A GOOD MOVIE! "VAMPIRE SORORITY BABES"!
IT SAYS YOU HAVE TO BE EIGHTEEN TO GET IN.
HECK, THAT'S NO PROBLEM! LET'S GO!
THIS IS A NEW ONE...

TWO PLEASE. ...I MEAN, ONE.

When Calvin reads a newspaper and discovers that research shows that most kids, by the age of six, has watched over a billion murders on TV, he panics! Since he hasn't seen half as many murders, he must have been watching all the wrong channels!

Saturday is Calvin's favorite day. He rises early so that he can sit in front of the TV, eating his favorite food (chocolate frosted sugar bombs), and remain paralyzed the rest of the day. However, his parents does not always share Calvin's idea of a perfect day, and often sends him outside to play instead.
